The FA Cup third round returns this weekend as Tottenham Hotspur welcome League One side Portsmouth to North London.

Spurs come into this game on the back of a 4-0 thrashing of Crystal Palace, a contest that saw Harry Kane score a double and Son Heung-min get back on the scoresheet.

The Premier League side have won the FA Cup eight times before, but their last success in this famous competition came all the way back in 1991. Spurs will be looking to do better than last season, as they were dumped out of the cup in the fifth round by Middlesbrough.

While for Portsmouth, they come into this tie without a manager in the dugout, as the South Coast side sacked brothers Danny and Nicky Cowley after their 3-1 defeat to Charlton Athletic.

Pompey have beaten non-league side Hereford and League One outfit MK Dons to get into the third round of the cup, and they will be hoping to make it into the fourth-round draw, despite the heavily stacked odds against them.

Tottenham look set to be without a host of attacking players for this game, as Richarlison, Dejan Kulusevski, and Lucas Moura look unlikely to return for this cup tie.

While Rodrigo Bentancur looks a certainty to miss this game as he is still recovering from a groin injury that he suffered in the World Cup playing for Uruguay.

On the positive front, Antoine Conte will be able to call upon Yves Bissouma for this game as he has served his one-match suspension. While players like Fraser Forster, Japhet Tanganga, and Djed Spence will be expected to be given rare starts.

For Portsmouth, they will be without the experienced Marlon Pack for this clash as he picked up two yellow cards in the defeat to Charlton and will now serve a one-match suspension, with Jay Mingi likely to take his place.

Other concerns will be the availability of captain Clark Robertson, who has suffered a hip injury and is a doubt for this game.

Pompey will definitely be without attacker Dane Scarlett, as he is unavailable to face his parent club as he is on loan at Portsmouth for the season.
