FA CUP DRAW: Southampton handed tough Third Round tie at Portsmouth | OneFootball

Barclays Women’s Championship promotion hopefuls Southampton have been handed a tricky trip to FA Women’s National League Southern Premier Division club Portsmouth in the Third Round of this season’s Adobe Women’s FA Cup.

The Third Round draw was streamed live across the Adobe Women’s FA Cup’s social media channels earlier this afternoon. The draw was split into Northern and Southern sections with 20 clubs in each side of the draw.

In the Northern section, Sheffield United face a trip to Rugby Borough while Birmingham City are away to MK Dons. Another eye-catching tie sees Blackburn Rovers travel to Darwen for a local derby. In the Southern section, Southampton’s trip to Portsmouth looks to be the ‘Tie of the Round’. Elsewhere, the pick of the ties see Lewes travel to Ipswich Town while Reading must go to Cheltenham Town.

The Adobe Women’s FA Cup Third Round ties are scheduled to take place on Sunday 10 December 2023. The winners of the Third Round ties will join the 12 Barclays Women’s Super League clubs in the Fourth Round draw. That stage of the competition is due to take place in January.

This season’s Adobe Women’s FA Cup final is scheduled to take place at Wembley Stadium on the weekend of 11/12 May 2024.
