Just three FA Cup fourth ties take place on Sunday, the first being Blackburn Rovers vs Wolverhampton Wanderers at Ewood Park. Plymouth then host Liverpool, before Aston Villa take on Spurs in the Midlands. Read on to find our FA Cup tips for Sunday, 9th February.
After a strong first half of the season, Blackburn have had a poor start to the new year. John Eustace’s side have only won two of their last 11 Championship matches, losing seven of those. Their latest showing was a disappointing 2-1 away defeat to Queens Park Rangers on Tuesday. Wolves are expected to make wholesale changes, but they can come out on top against Rovers who have been underwhelming of late.
After being 1500/1 at the start of the campaign to complete a quadruple, Liverpool remain in four competitions and have seen their odds cut to just 33/1 in the same market. The Reds take on Plymouth on Sunday and at 12/5 with bet365, Harvey Elliott looks an appealing price to find the net anytime in the match. Elliott has scored in two of his three starts this season and faces a Plymouth side who have shipped nine goals across their last three matches.
Spurs’ season seems to be going from bad to worse at the moment. It’s been injury after injury this campaign and on Thursday, they were dumped out of the League Cup as they put in a dismal attempt at stopping Liverpool. Postecoglou’s side failed to have a shot on target in that match and I think the manner of the defeat will be damning. Another defeat here and it could be time for a switch of manager. Villa possess a solid home record and with a lot longer to prepare for this game, they can come out on top.
