The Football Association have charged Chelsea forward Mykhailo Mudryk with doping offences.

The Ukrainian has been provisionally suspended since December 2024 due to a banned substance in his sample with the player having not played since a Europa Conference League fixture away to Heidenheim in November 2024.

Things could get worse for Mudryk though with Telegraph Sport reporting that the player has been formally charged by the FA.

"We can confirm that Mykhailo Mudryk has been charged with Anti-Doping Rule Violations alleging the presence and/or use of a prohibited substance, in terms of Regulations 3 and 4 of The FA’s Anti-Doping Regulations. As this is an ongoing case, we are not in a position to comment further at this time," a spokesman said to the paper.

The player has denied any wrongdoing but the 24-year-old could face a ban of up to four years.

Mudryk joined Chelsea from Shakhtar Donetsk midway through the 2022/23 season and has since featured 73 times for the club, scoring 10 goals and assisting eight.
