The home-based national team delivered a disappointing performance in the African Nations Championship (CHAN) after spending nearly two months under his leadership.Now, the question is whether he can do a good job with the senior squad, especially since he revealed many tactical shortcomings during the continental tournament.His decision to use a diamond formation, even though he didn’t have the right players to execute it effectively, raises serious concerns.Never before has a Nigerian team suffered such humiliation. Losing so heavily to Sudan is alarming and raises many questions about Éric Chelle’s tactical and technical management.In my opinion, the Nigerian Football Federation (NFF) needs to make bold decisions regarding the head coach position, especially since only a few weeks separate us from the much-anticipated return of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.
