In a recent report, The Sun mentioned that Dominic Calvert-Lewin wants to join Manchester United this summer. It has been stated that the English striker has sacked his agent and is now looking to negotiate a deal with the Red Devils.
Calvert-Lewin struggled to find consistency at Everton in the previous campaign but managed to put in a few impressive displays for them in the Premier League. The 28-year-old found the back of the net three times and earned a couple of assists in 26 matches for the Toffees last season in all competitions.
The English striker has got a wealth of experience in the Premier League and is currently available as a free agent. Hence, he would be an affordable option for the Red Devils to consider this off-season.
However, the Sheffield-born striker missed a lot of games last season due to a hamstring injury. Thus, there are some concerns over his long-term fitness.

Calvert-Lewin can find a yard of space for himself to get some strikes in at goal. He has got the vision to create the odd chance for others around him in the final third and is a strong runner with the ball at his feet.
Standing at 1.89m, the English talent can use his strong frame to win his fair share of 50-50 aerial duels for his side in the opponent’s half. However, Calvert-Lewin is not good enough to start regularly in the Premier League. Plus, as touched upon earlier, he has struggled to stay injury-free, which would be an area of concern for Man United if they decide to offer him a contract.
We can expect Calvert-Lewin to add more firepower to Man United boss Ruben Amorim’s frontline. He is more than capable of serving as an ideal back-up to Benjamin Sesko at the Mancunian club.
At 28, Calvert-Lewin is still in his prime and could be a useful rotational piece in Amorim’s match-day squad. He will also help the Mancunian giants compete across all fronts over the next few years. With all things considered, Man United should consider going all out to snap Calvert-Lewin up on a free transfer this summer.
