The Addicks announced the signing of Johnson this evening via a post on their official club website.
The 30-year-old joins the South East Londoners on a free transfer after leaving former club Bristol City at the end of last season. Johnson spent one season with The Robins in which she netted four goals in 17 appearances in the Barclays Women’s Championship.
Johnson is a seasoned professional at Barclays Women’s Championship level. In addition to her spell with Bristol City, she has also spent time with Sheffield FC, Leicester City, Aston Villa and Sheffield United. She has now added Charlton Athletic to her list of second tier employers.
After completing her move to The Oakwood, Johnson said “I am happy to be here. This is a club with a lot of history, they’re ambitious and want to create more success and I am excited to be part of it. I am looking forward to starting the season and doing what I do best.
“I have my own individual goals and as a team. I have won this league unbeaten before and it’s getting more competitive. I come with a positive attitude, experience and a winning mentality.”
Johnson is Charlton Athletic head coach Karen Hills’ ninth signing of the summer transfer window.
