Christian Eriksen is likely to leave Manchester United at the end of the season.
The 32-year-old has made 13 appearances this season, recording 7 goal contributions from midfield.
It remains to be seen whether new head coach Ruben Amorim will have a place in his team for Eriksen, who revealed recently that he has not spoken to United about a contract renewal.
The experienced Denmark international will see his deal expire at the end of the season, which means he is free to talk to foreign clubs in January.
Football transfers expert Fabrizio Romano provided an update on Eriksen’s future this morning and it sounds like he will be searching for a new club over the coming months.
Romano wrote via X: “Manchester United and Christian Eriksen are still expected to part ways at the end of the season.
“No negotiations taking place over new deal, which Ruben Amorim’s opinion will also be considered – but Eriksen’s expected to leave.”
Perhaps the biggest concern for Eriksen is the fact Amorim’s midfield at Sporting was so energetic. The Portuguese coach expects his midfield players to cover lots of ground, but Eriksen has never been renowned for such traits.
Eriksen’s work-rate defensively could prove to be his biggest flaw in Amorim’s system, but only time will tell and he’ll get opportunities to prove himself between now and the end of the season.

A report last week suggested United are set to listen to offers for Eriksen in January.
It’s United’s last chance to cash in on the Dane, who will be available for free following the expiry of his contract.
Eriksen was linked with a return move to Ajax in the summer, although a deal never materialised and he remained at Old Trafford.
