Liverpool forward Roberto Firmino is on his way out of Anfield this summer, with his contract set to expire. And according to Onefootball (h/t SPORT), the Brazilian forward has offered himself to Barcelona.

The 31-year-old has been at Liverpool since 2015 and has been an integral part of Jurgen Klopp’s side over the years. Firmino played a critical role in the success that the Reds achieved in recent years, helping them win the UEFA Champions League and the Premier League.

However, the Brazilian’s importance has slowly reduced in recent times with the likes of Luis Diaz, Darwin Nunez and Cody Gakpo gaining importance in the manager’s plans this season.

And Firmino has thus decided to part ways with the Premier League heavyweights at the end of the campaign and depart as a free agent.

And as he looks to start a new adventure, Firmino is understood to have offered himself to Barcelona.

The Blaugrana are in the market for a new low-cost attacking replacement in the summer, apart from their pursuit of Brazilian prodigy Vitor Roque.

A move for Marcus Thuram of Borussia Monchengladbach had been in the works, but a transfer looks unlikely to materialise as the Catalans are losing ground in pursuit of the Frenchman.

Firmino could thus be an interesting alternative for Barcelona to consider. The 31-year-old would not be a long-term solution but can provide a solid option with years of proven pedigree and experience at the highest level.

However, whether the La Liga leaders do have any interest in considering the Liverpool ace’s signing on a free agent remains to be seen. Given their Financial Fair Play issues, wages could become a roadblock.

Firmino has played 27 matches this season for Liverpool, scoring ten goals and setting up five more for his teammates.
