Northampton Town finished October with a run of four wins and four clean sheets on the bounce – scoring 10 times without conceding once.
No player was more important during that period than centre-back Fraser Horsfall, who was not only strong defensively but found the net twice himself as well.
It’s been a hugely impressive first season in the EFL for Sutton United, who put themselves into the play-off conversation by winning four of their six games in League Two.
Left-back Robert Milsom’s contributions are impossible to ignore – adding two goals and three assists on top of his defensive displays.
The performances of Nicky Cadden have been pivotal to the impressive start to the season made by Forest Green Rovers, who are top of the League Two table at the moment.
There’s no shortage of attacking talent in the squad but Cadden’s performances on the left flank caught the eye as he found the net twice and provided a hugely impressive 15 key passes last month.
Tom Conlon continues to be Port Vale’s beating heart in midfield and helped them take 13 points from a possible 18 to move to second last month.
Conlon offers so much without the ball but his contributions in the final third were impossible to ignore in October as he scored three times and added two assists.
Nominees: George Miller, Sam Nombe
Barnsley loanee George Miller has been in red hot form for Walsall over the last month, finding the net five times and taking 20 shots as he proved too much to handle for opposition defences.
Miller’s goals helped the Saddlers go unbeaten in October and shoot up the League Two table.
Exeter City extended their long unbeaten run in October, not losing a game all month, to move to fourth in the table.
In-form forward Sam Nombe was vital for the Grecians as he bagged four goals and made eight key passes last month.
