Dean Windass has exclusively told Football FanCast that Nuno Espirito Santo could cope with the pressure at Tottenham.
The Portuguese has been mentioned along with a host of other names as a replacement for Jose Mourinho, who was sacked following Tottenham’s wretched run of form which may well see them miss out on the Champions League.
Prior to Mourinho’s departure, strong reports had claimed that Daniel Levy was ‘keeping tabs’ on Santo, who’s done an exceptional job during his four seasons at Molineux and was praised for his tactics by Mourinho back in 2019.
Santo took Wolves from the Championship to consecutive seventh-place finishes in the Premier League, plus to the Europa League quarter-finals.
The 47-year-old has also managed both Valencia and Porto, taking the latter to the knockout stages of the Champions League, and Windass believes that Santo’s previous experiences would help him with the pressure at Tottenham.
He told Football FanCast:
“I think he could cope with that pressure. He’s doing a fantastic job.
“We were saying the other week about Sean Dyche – I think it’s just a ship too far for people like that, but Nuno could cope.”
