Lee Hendrie told FLW his thoughts on Kellen Fisher potentially moving to Merseyside

Norwich City's Kellen Fisher has caught the eye of David Moyes' Everton, and it could be Liam Manning's first major test as Canaries boss.

After joining Norwich from then-National League side Bromley two years ago, Fisher has established himself as a key player at Carrow Road.

In 24/25, the 21-year-old made 41 appearances across all competitions for the Norfolk outfit and managed four assists. His impressive performances led to Norwich rewarding him with a four-year contract - keeping him at the club until 2028 with an option for another year.

Everton are apparently keen to strengthen their right-back position with Seamus Coleman entering his 17th season at Goodison Park, and are thinking of swooping in for Fisher - according to Football Insider.

What Lee Hendrie has said on potential Everton, Kellen Fisher deal

Former Aston Villa midfielder Lee Hendrie exclusively told FLW his thoughts on Kellen Fisher potentially moving to Merseyside, and admits Norwich will be reluctant to let the youngster leave.

"No surprise that there’s clubs that are looking to take him. I think that model that Norwich have got - it’s hard really - because again, last season, they were nowhere near it for me," Hendrie told FLW.

The Sky Sports pundit highlighted the Canaries' challenging position following their disappointing 13th-place finish last season. "Obviously, they’ve lost big players coming into this season. I think they’ll want to keep hold of him, I really do," he added.

Fisher's ability to play in both full-pack positions, along with centre midfield, is perhaps what makes him an attractive option for Moyes.

This is without taking into account the player's estimated wage of £7.5k-per-week, which would surely make him one of the Toffee's lowest-paid players even with an increase.

Norwich told to consider Kellen Fisher compromise

Hendrie suggested that a compromised deal could be on the cards for Norwich. "Whether there's something there that, you know, it’s a buy and he gets loaned back, that’ll be one thing that you’d certainly consider.

"But, you look at Everton’s squad and I think he’d give himself a chance of trying to get into that squad or starting eleven," Hendrie continued.

Former Bristol City boss Manning has welcomed eleven new players to Norfolk so far this window, but only Jeffrey Schlupp is a natural in at least one full-back position.

Manning did mention to BBC Radio Norfolk that "a few will leave" - in regards to exits before the window closes - but it's highly unlikely he was referring to Fisher.

Everton would need to offer the "right price" for Fisher

Although Fisher started Norwich's opening game of the season against Millwall on the bench and came on for just seven minutes, he played 82 minutes of the Carabao Cup win against Watford on Tuesday. This shows he definitely has a part to play for Manning this season.

"It’s a tricky one, I'm not sure that the Canaries will be willing to sell, but if the right price is coming their way, I'm sure that they will, knowing their model of bringing in players and developing them," Hendrie said.

"If they are to be pushing for any sort of success this season, you’d want to be keeping hold of him," he concluded.

FLW's Norwich City Fan Pundit, Zeke Downes, has told us that the club shouldn't be entertaining any offers - and Hendrie's words almost echo that. But if an offer is made that seems too good to be true, it wouldn't be surprising for Canaries' fans to see their club cash in again.
