Former Leicester City midfielder Keith Gillespie has exclusively told Football FanCast that previous successful recruits from the Scottish Premiership are evidence that see Odsonne Edouard could be a success in the Premier League.

The French striker is approaching 100 goals for Celtic following his move from PSG four seasons ago, but is likely to leave the Hoops at the end of the season having failed to sign a new contract, with his current deal expiring in 14 months.

Arsenal and West Ham have been strongly linked with Edouard, but Leicester potentially hold all of the cards, with the striker having previously been signed by and then played under Rodgers at Parkhead.

Reports believe that Rodgers would keen on a reunion with Edouard, whose struggled to replicate his form from previous years, but has still managed 20 goals in all competitions and is on the verge of retaining his Golden Boot.

“I’m sure he is one Rodgers knows well and he’s a big fan of his. I did see reports that he is linked.

“It’s difficult to compare at times because the English Premier League is a lot stronger than the Scottish Premiership. But that player needs to be given the chance to show he can do it in the Premier League.

“You look at Tierney at Celtic, he’s been a fantastic signing and John McGinn coming from Scottish football, I think he’s a fantastic player.

“I’m sure Brendan Rodgers knows his pedigree, knows what he’s all about and if he feels he can come from Celtic and come into Leicester, he’s got a good eye for a player. He’s been mentioned and is on Leicester’s radar.”
