Aston Villa attacker Andre Green has emerged as a target for four clubs led by Brentford ahead of January, Football Insider can reveal.

The blisteringly quick forward, 21, has entered the final six months of his contract at the Premier League club and his future is in major doubt.

A Villa source has told Football Insider that the club are aware of interest in Green from Championship promotion hopefuls Brentford, Stuttgart, Utrecht and Zulte Waregem.

He has not been involved for Preston since a 1-1 draw with Leeds United in October with their manager Alex Neil unwilling to make changes to his high-flying side.

Villa could cancel his loan and bring him back to Villa Park before sanctioning a permanent exit next month.

The England Under-20 international’s suitors are actively monitoring his situation knowing they could either sign him for a cut-price fee in January or land him for free next summer when his contract expires.

Brentford are long-term admirers of Green and could offer him regular first-team football, while German outfit Stuttgart, Dutch side Utrecht and Belgian club Zulte Waregem are all ready to offer Green the chance to kick-start his career abroad.

Villa had hoped Green would be a regular in Alex Neil’s side after dropping down to the Championship but that has not proved to be the case.

He has made only two starts all season – both in the League Cup – and has failed to start a single Championship match.

The Villa academy product spent the first half of last season on loan at Portsmouth in League One, scoring five times in 12 matches.
