The Reds have already held some talks over signing the Bournemouth left-back, who has also been the subject of strong interest from Chelsea, Manchester City and Real Madrid.

Sources close to the situation have informed CaughtOffside that Bournemouth have also made it clear to interested clubs that Kerkez can leave for a fee in the region of £45m.

This shouldn’t prove too expensive for Liverpool, who are also understood to be ready to sell Kostas Tsimikas if they manage to get a deal done for Kerkez.

With one in and one out at left-back, LFC are confident they can remain in line with Financial Fair Play regulations.

Milos Kerkez transfer to follow Jeremie Frimpong?

Liverpool already know that they’re losing star right-back Trent Alexander-Arnold at the end of his contract this summer, with Frimpong close to completing his move to replace the England international.

It could now be that Arne Slot is preparing even more change at full-back, with Kerkez coming in as an ideal successor to the ageing Andrew Robertson.

Even if losing Alexander-Arnold is a big blow, and replacing someone like Robertson won’t be easy, you’d find it hard to argue that Frimpong and Kerkez aren’t two superb signings to get the Merseyside giants back on track in that area of their squad.

Could other clubs still win the race for Milos Kerkez?

Chelsea and Man City have also had contacts over Kerkez, so this saga isn’t over just yet.

The Blues are long-term admirers of the Hungary international, and are also considering making changes in that position this summer.

Ben Chilwell and Renato Veiga are likely to be allowed to leave, and even Marc Cucurella could be replaced even if he’s shown some improvement this term.
