Fulham remain confident of Fabio Carvalho signing a new contract with the club, Football League World has learned exclusively.
The midfielder has really made a name for himself in the early stages of this season and there is a considerable chance he will be a key part in their promotion bid in the Championship this year.
However, with this emergence in mind, he is attracting interest from elsewhere and with his contract currently running out at the end of this season, there are obvious thoughts that he could end up moving away from Craven Cottage for a minimal sum.
Football League World has been told, though, that the Cottagers remain confident that an agreement will eventually be reached between the player and the club, putting an end to the current speculation over his head.
Carvalho is the latest young player to come through the system at Fulham, with the likes of Ryan Sessegnon and Harvey Elliott previous examples of the fine work the club does at developing players.
Fulham will hope that they can keep Carvalho around a little longer as they did with Sessegnon rather than losing him so soon like they did with Elliott, who obviously moved to Liverpool.
