Exclusive: French Football Journalist Lists Two Managerial Candidates Amid Galtier’s Uncertain Future at PSG | OneFootball

Christophe Galtier’s future at Paris Saint-Germain is currently up in the air. Galtier has one more year left on his contract at PSG, and he reportedly will at the least stay put at PSG for the remainder of the ongoing season.

Multiple managers have been rumored as possible contenders to replace Galtier should PSG decide to soon sack him, including Thomas Tuchel.

In his weekly PSG Talk column, CBS reporter and PSG Talk columnist Jonathan Johnson listed two managers who are deemed to be “credible candidates” to possibly replace the French manager at PSG.

“Even if change is deemed absolutely necessary, the likes of Bologna’s Thiago Motta and possibly even faithful servant Zoumana Camara now appear to be credible candidates in the question of Galtier’s succession,” Johnson wrote.

Motta, who played in the final seven seasons of his career at PSG, is in his first season as manager of Serie A side Bologna. Motta currently has Bologna sitting in 10th place in the Serie A standings with 37 points through 27 matches played in the campaign. The Italian manager was rumored as a possible candidate to become PSG’s new manager following Mauricio Pochettino’s departure from the club last year, but the Ligue 1 side ultimately decided to hire Galtier for the role.

On the other hand, Camara has served as the PSG U19 manager since July 2021. He does not have any experience serving as a first-team manager.

Galtier’s first season at PSG has been marred by the club’s early UEFA Champions League and Coupe de France exits. PSG is at the least on par to win Ligue 1 for the 11th time in club history.
