The 1-0 loss means Liverpool have now not won in the league since 19 December, with only one goal scored in five matches in that time — a worrying stat for the revered front three.

Liverpool signed Diogo Jota in the summer and Mohammed Salah has long been linked with a move to Real Madrid, amid speculation of attacking changes in the future.

But Maguire thinks clubs will be patient when it comes to moving players on, given that budgets are tighter due to the economic impact of the Covid-19 pandemic.

He told Football Insider: “To a certain extent, you have to look at one out, one in, in order to keep the books balanced. The front three, they’ve all had advanced contracts since moving to the club.

“So even if the club did want to move them on, and there’s no evidence of that, there are a relatively small pool of clubs who would be able to buy them.

“Because their transfer fees would be considerable because of their achievements over the last couple of seasons. They’ve got players to come back from injury as well, which will make a difference.

“We will see a struggle all around for clubs to move players on who are on big contracts.

“The Premier League has taken a bit of a hit, but compared to the continent it’s nothing. The Premier League has this amazing TV deal.

“If you look at France, their TV deal has gone *** up, so French football is in major crisis. Wage cuts have been put through in Spain too.

“So there’s not a lot of places that any places where these players can go. So there’s no inclination from the club itself and even if there was they would struggle.”

The trio have scored a combined total of 284 goals in 640 matches for Liverpool.

In that time, they have played an integral part in one of the most opulent periods in the club’s history, winning the Premier League, Champions League and Club World Cup under manager Jurgen Klopp
