Former NK Istra coach Curro Torres agrees with Wales assistant Rob Page about Dylan Levitt's loan in Croatia.

After a disappointing spell at Charlton during the first-half of this season, the Manchester United youngster made the surprise move to NK Istra on February 15.

Levitt has only made one appearance for Istra, but Page has already seen an improvement in his performances.

Page - who has taken temporary charge in place of Ryan Giggs - started the 20-year-old in Wales' friendly win over Mexico.

Speaking after the game, Page said: "Dylan Levitt, he's gone out to play competitive football (for Croatian club Istra) and it's certainly worked for him as well."

Valencia legend Torres, who spent a brief spell with the Croatian Premier League outfit, concurs with Page and believes Levitt can continue to thrive in the Balkans.

"I think it is a good place for Dylan Levitt to grow and progress as a player," Torres told Tribalfootball.com.

"The atmosphere is somewhat more relaxed and less pressured in that league for a British player who is still developing."

A two-time La Liga winner with Los Che, Torres left at Istra after only a month in charge.

Explaining his decision, Torres answered: "The conditions were not appropriate for our objectives, things like the training ground not being up to scratch, inconsistencies with the materials available and the kit-man department.

"I felt a bit bad leaving because I got on well with the players. It was a club that is in the process of being constructed."

NK Istra are currently sitting in eighth place in the ten team 1.HNL division.
