Exclusive: Dzeko has verbal agreement with Fiorentina | OneFootball

Fiorentina have overtaken Bologna in the race for Edin Dzeko, reaching a verbal agreement with the ex-Inter and Roma star.

Dzeko is nearing a return to Serie A and is expected to sign a one-year contract with Fiorentina.

Sources with direct knowledge of the matter exclusively inform me that the experienced centre-forward has reached an agreement in principle with the Viola.

Football Italia exclusively reported last week that Fiorentina had joined Bologna in the race to sign the former Manchester City star.

The Rossoblu had been in talks with the 39-year-old for several weeks, but Fiorentina, backed by their new coach Stefano Pioli, took a leading position and are now on the verge of signing the Bosnia-Herzegovina international.

Dzeko will sign his Fiorentina contract once the final formal details are fixed.

Dzeko returns to Serie A

The 39-year-old is set to return to Serie A after a two-year spell at Fenerbahce.

His contract with the Turkish giants expires at the end of the month, so he’s available as a free agent.

Dzeko has already scored 107 goals in 268 Serie A games with Inter and Roma.
