Adding goalscoring options has been a clear ploy this summer for the Rams.

Derby County have signed former Sheffield United and Liverpool attacker Rhian Brewster to a two-year deal.

The 25-year-old has become John Eustace's eighth addition of the summer, and his fourth in the attacking third of the pitch. It's an area that Derby have clearly tried to address in this window following the departure of their only double-digit scorer from last season: Jerry Yates.

While Brewster hasn't been close to the levels that he showed on Merseyside that led to his £23.5 million move to Bramall Lane, he did show much more promising signs under Chris Wilder last time out.

Lee Hendrie heaps praise on Derby County for Rhian Brewster signing

He has described his move to Pride Park as a "no-brainer." Sky Sports pundit Lee Hendrie believes that for the Rams this would've been an obvious move to make as well.

"I think he'll be a really good signing for Derby County," Hendrie exclusively told Football League World on Brewster's move to County.

"I think he was just getting back to full fitness [with the Blades]. You could see that he was looking a hell of a lot stronger than what he was, and obviously they've got lots of potential in that forward area.

"[They've got] lots of experience with the likes of [Carlton] Morris and [Andi] Weimann, [and] obviously the new signing as well, [Patrick] Agyemang. Again, you don't know what you're quite going to get, but it could be a real rough diamond there.

"But I think Rhian Brewster will have a point to prove. You've seen that he played for Sheffield United in a number of positions again. So he can play out wide and come in from wide areas, which would be very good for Derby. But I do think, you know, on a free transfer, it's an absolute no-brainer."

Derby are ticking all of the summer transfer window boxes

With the range of options now available to Eustace, the club's work on bringing in attackers should now be finished. They've got a good spread of players to choose from up top. Two experienced heads in Morris and Weimann. Brewster brings a lot of talent, and Agyemang is a raw prospect.

If there's one area of the pitch where they may be a bit short, it's in the middle. Recent signing David Ozoh has a patchy injury history to say the least, as Derby know well, so they can't 100 per cent rely on him to be available. So maybe one more centre-mid would be of use, but you've got to say things are looking pretty good for them otherwise.
