Coventry City are chasing highly-rated non-league winger Chay Tilt, Football Insider understands.

Tilt, 22, has caught the eye for Southern League Premier Central club Stourbridge this season after being released by Queens Park Rangers this summer after two years at Loftus Road.

A Coventry source has told Football Insider that the club have been watching Tilt regularly this season and manager Mark Robbins will continue to launch scouting missions ahead of a potential transfer raid.

However, Tilt’s progress has also seen him emerge on the radar of a number of Football League sides, with Coventry among those keeping a close eye on his progress.

The winger, who is the nephew of Blackpool defender Curtis Tilt, came through the ranks at West Brom before joining Queens Park Rangers, leaving the Hoops on a free transfer earlier this year.

The 22-year-old is currently on non-contract terms at Midlands outfit Stourbridge and the seventh-tier club are resigned to losing the livewire attacker amid growing interest from Football League clubs.

Tilt has scored five goals in 10 games for his club this season, with Stourbridge sitting 13th in the league.

Meanwhile, Coventry boss Robbins is looking to bolster the attacking options at his disposal in a bid to boost their promotion bid from League One, his side third in the table after 17 games.
