Tottenham attacker Jack Clarke has agreed to join Stoke City on loan – and it is a “great move” for all parties, according to Kevin Campbell.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Premier League striker, who has a close affiliation to the Potters through his son Tyrese, claimed that Clarke, 20, is a “clever addition” who can provide Michael O’Neill’s side with much-needed creativity.

Clarke has made three substitute appearances for Spurs’ first team this season – two in the Europa League and one in the FA Cup.

He has also excelled in the club’s Under-23 set up and his eight appearances in Premier League 2 have yielded two goals and one assist.

When asked by Football Insider for his verdict on the transfer that is expected to be announced in the next 24 hours, Campbell said: “I think that would be a clever addition.

“I think Stoke need to up the amount of chances that they create and up the amount of goals they score. They seem to be in a bit of a bind right now. They need some fresh impetus in the squad.

“It could be a great move for club and player.”

Clarke moved to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium from Leeds United in a near-£10million deal in July 2019.

He returned to Elland Road on loan for the subsequent season but struggled and spent the latter half of the 2019/20 campaign at QPR.
