Brentford B assistant manager Sam Saunders is under consideration for the Crawley Town vacancy, Football League World has been told.

The 39-year-old is currently involved with the Bees B team, so he does have coaching experience, however he has not yet been a manager so this would be his first senior role and a big step up.

Nevertheless, he is highly-rated within the Brentford setup, and the Londoners have a stellar reputation when it comes to identifying talent both on and off the pitch.

Crawley are back in action on January 14 when they host Doncaster Rovers.
