Sutton United have received more than one offer for Harry Smith ahead of the January transfer window, a source has exclusively told Football League World.

The experienced forward has been a prolific scorer for his current team this season, registering 10 goals in 25 competitive appearances with seven of these strikes coming in League Two.

He may have got on the scoresheet more times if it wasn't for his red card against Barrow during the early stages of the campaign, but he can be proud of his achievements thus far, even after being sent off again against Gillingham recently.

Previously at Leyton Orient, he was deemed surplus to requirements during the second half of last season and sent out on loan to National League side Barnet.

It turns out that spell is probably one of the best things that has happened to him recently, with the 28-year-old rediscovering his goalscoring form and recording an impressive seven goals in 12 appearances for the London-based outfit, who richly benefitted from having him at their disposal.

Scoring 15 goals in all competitions for Orient during the 2021/22 season, he will be hoping to breeze past that record this term considering he already has 10 on the board, but his future at the VBS Community Stadium is currently unclear amid offers from other clubs.

His EFL experience and bright form this term, with the 28-year-old also registering three assists during the 2023/24 campaign thus far, may earn him a move away from his current team.

Bradford City are one team believed to be interested in taking Smith away from their league rivals.

The Bantams made some promising summer additions - but Graham Alexander will relish the opportunity to put his stamp on the side during his first transfer window in charge.

Forest Green Rovers are also interested in him - and the chance to link up with Troy Deeney could be tempting for fellow striker Smith who will be looking to continue scoring from now until the end of the season and beyond.

FLW understands promotion competitors Mansfield Town, who are at the other end of the table in contrast to FGR, are the third side keen on the 28-year-old.

The stance Harry Smith should take on a Sutton United exit

Sutton are in a poor league position at the moment and are at risk of falling into the fifth tier.

Forest Green are at risk of doing the same though, so staying at his current side or heading to Deeney's side may not be the best possible outcome for him next month.

However, it could be argued that he should stay at his current club considering he has thrived there this term and would probably earn a move away at the end of the season if Sutton are relegated.

Bradford and Mansfield seem like better destinations if he did move on during the January window.
