Arsenal’s young forward Khayon Edwards has completed a move to Leyton Orient on loan for the rest of the season, an exclusive from Daily Cannon’s Dan Critchlow reveals.

The move offers an exciting opportunity for Edwards to gain valuable first-team experience.

Edwards has been a standout performer in Arsenal‘s youth ranks, known for his quick pace and sharp instincts in front of goal. Despite facing challenges with injuries last season, the 20-year-old managed to score five goals from 13 starts at the U21 level.

This was on the back of an impressive stint with the under-18s, where he was the top scorer, netting 18 goals from 20 academy league matches. His ability to play both as a forward and in a deeper No. 10 role, where he can link up play, has been a crucial aspect of his development.

This season, Edwards has continued his prolific form in the Premier League 2, making 10 appearances and scoring seven goals. Additionally, his performance in the EFL Trophy has been noteworthy, scoring two goals and providing two assists in four appearances.

The move to Leyton Orient represents a significant step in Edwards’ career, providing him with the platform to showcase his talent in a competitive environment with his development at Arsenal starting from the pre-academy at age five.

Leyton Orient have confirmed that 25-year-old forward Aaron Drinan has joined Swindon Town in League Two.

We were told the deal was complete a few hours before the deadline, however Leyton Orient confirmed the move with just minutes left of the deadline.

Edwards is expected to join his new side for training on Friday.

He told Orient’s website, “I’m really excited to be joining Leyton Orient. I know that the club were promoted last season and have had a good first half to this season. I’m really excited about making the step up to senior football and I have really enjoyed the chances that I have got in the EFL Trophy this season. I hope that I can come in, get my chance and help the club to have a strong second half of the season by scoring some goals.”
