Arsenal and Chelsea are among the numerous top clubs closely monitoring highly-rated Sporting Lisbon wonderkid Geovany Quenda, who could already cost as much as €100m.
Sources with a close understanding of the situation have informed CaughtOffside that scouts from the likes of Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester City and Manchester United have been sending their scouts to watch Quenda, and he’s received rave reviews after some eye-catching displays.
Other big names around Europe such as Real Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain and Bayern Munich have also been keeping tabs on the 17-year-old, who already looks like he’s surely set for a big career at the highest level.
CaughtOffside understands Sporting are already adamant that Quenda is worth huge money, and will demand his €100m release clause is paid in full, which will surely do something to ward off the likes of Arsenal and Chelsea for now.

Quenda clearly won’t be short of options if he does leave Sporting in the near future, but one imagines he might do well to stay where he is for a bit longer to continue his development and ensure he plays regularly.
It’s not easy moving to the Premier League at a young age and having that spotlight on you, so Quenda would be well advised to be patient and learn the game a bit more before making that jump.
At the same time, though, Arsenal are a very tempting project right now and he’d surely relish the chance to learn from someone like Mikel Arteta, who has shown a willingness to hand opportunities to young players.
Chelsea remain a work in progress, but they’re also a good project for young players, with their current owners showing they’re ready to invest a lot in the best youth from around the world, and give them a chance to go straight into the first-team.
