Alisha Lehmann is one of the most well-known names from the FA Women’s Super League and is aiming to hit higher heights than ever before as the new season kicks off.

Speaking to OneFootball thanks to adidas, Lehmann admitted the last couple of seasons, both interrupted by the coronavirus pandemic, have not been the easiest after her breakthrough in England as a teenager.

The Swiss international is well aware of the weekly challenge of playing in Europe’s most watched women’s league but is feeling more comfortable than ever ahead of the new season. Lehmann will have new boots on her feet this year and she couldn’t be happier with what adidas have delivered.

“The boot is really comfortable, I really like it,” she tells us. “I think it’s the most comfortable boot I’ve ever had in my life. When you dribble and stuff it’s so easy. I really mean it, I don’t want to change anymore now!”

As the women’s game grows, the TV rights have been picked up by Sky and the BBC for the WSL next season in a record-breaking multimillion pound deal.

The league has been dominated by the likes of Chelsea, Manchester City and Arsenal in recent years but Lehmann explains the league’s competitiveness and believes the door is open for more clubs to challenge as long as they not only invest money but also time into their women’s teams.
