Exclusive: After a good season in the MLS, Léo Chu receives inquiries to return to Brazil.

According to information gathered by Território MLS from people close to the player, Léo Chu has received inquiries from Bahia, Fluminense, Athletico, Atlético Mineiro, and São Paulo. No official offers have reached Seattle Sounders, only inquiries to the player. The United States club is only interested in negotiating the 23-year-old forward on a permanent basis, so a loan, for now, is ruled out. The player’s team has expressed willingness to consider offers.

In Brazil, Léo Chu played for Grêmio – where he was developed – and Ceará before moving to Seattle Sounders in 2021.

The young player is coming off his best season with the American club, scoring 5 goals and providing 8 assists in 39 games. Since joining the club in 2021, Léo has become a key player in Brian Schmetzer’s team this season and has gained considerable prominence.

Léo Chu was part of the Seattle Sounders team that won the ConcaChampions in 2022, marking the club’s first title in history, even scoring a goal in the tournament.
