Ex-Torino Striker Ciccio Graziani: “Inter’s Marcelo Brozovic The Best Playmaker In World Football”

Former Torino, Roma, and Fiorentina striker Ciccio Graziani believes that Inter midfielder Marcelo Brozovic is the top player in the world in his position.

Speaking to Italian broadcaster SportMediaset, Graziani hailed the 29-year-old as the best playmaking central midfielder in all of world football, in addition to praising the other midfielders at the club.

Brozovic has grown season on season since joining Inter in 2015, cementing himself as a key part of last season’s Scudetto-winning side before taking a further step up this campaign.

The Croat is vital to how the Nerazzurri play, and his passing range is what allows the team to go through the gears and control the tempo of matches.

Graziani is also impressed with the likes of Nicolo Barella and Hakan Calhanoglu in the Nerazzurri’s engine room, but for him it is Brozovic who truly stands out as the world-class player in the centre of the pitch.

“I’m amazed by Calhanoglu,” he said, “who is playing as a true midfielder, different from what his role was for Milan. He runs a lot, tackles, presses well.”

“And he has two very impressive players next to him,” he continued, “in my opinion Brozovic is the best playmaker in world football right now, Barella is also a top player.”

On Alexis Sanchez’s emergence as a regular in the team, Graziani stated that “I didn’t like his statements, but it is clear that in this fort Inzaghi is giving him a chance as a starter, and as a reward for his impact against Juventus.”
