“I'm very happy. I can't wait to start and give my thanks to the coaching staff and the president. I know the club and it's a good place to continue my career. I know that we can do a good job together here," said Aurier.

After being called up for the Côte d'Ivoire, Aurier recognised that he is ready to play against CA Osasuna this Sunday at the Estadio de la Cerámica: “It was a long trip with the national team. I played 90 minutes in the first game, and half of the second. I'm ready to play in the next game. I'm completely focused on Sunday's game and I'm available for the manager. I'm ready to played and give my all for Villarreal."

The Yellows No.25 underlined that he has a good relationship with Unai Emery, with whom he coincided at PSG: “I know him well. We worked together in Paris. We get on really well. He called me to come to Villarreal and I'm very excited to work with him again. It's a great opportunity for me."

Finally, Aurier underlined his ambition and said that he dreams of winning a new title with Villarreal: “The aim is to win a title. I haven't won a title for a while, and the club has a winning mentality, as we saw last year, but the most important thing is enjoying myself, enjoying the club, enjoying my family and showing my quality and why I am here. I love the atmosphere at the stadium with the fans. I remember the Villarreal teams with Robert Pires and Marcos Senna when I was younger."

Villarreal CEO Fernando Roig Negueroles unveiled the new signing, declaring: “We're very happy with his arrival. It was an opportunity in a position taht we wanted to improve. The possibility came up and now he's with us. We're sure that he will bring us muscle and strength. He's an experienced player who has played for big teams."
