Former S.P.A.L. and Cagliari head coach Leonardo Semplici believes that the value of Inter as a club will be increased by the return of Romelu Lukaku on loan from Chelsea.

Speaking to Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport in an interview published in yesterday’s print edition, the coach gave the view that the 29-year-old’s return brings up the Nerazzurri’s level.

Lukaku only left Inter less than twelve months ago to make the big money move to Chelsea, but the Belgian is already all set to become a Nerazzurri player again.

Inter will pay far less for the striker than they received just last summer, albeit they are only paying a loan fee rather than buying him permanently, but they bring in a player who improves them on the pitch as well as in terms of their commercial value.

Semplici feels that it is a deal which raises the Nerazzurri’s value overall, stating that “He raises the value of Inter. He has great desire and determination, and when he was there he was happy. He wants to return after an unhappy experience at Chelsea.”
