Former Roma Primavera player Cristian Volpato spoke of his experience in Serie B with Sassuolo.
In an interview with La Gazzetta dello Sport, Volpato – who moved to Sassuolo a year ago from Roma on a permanent basis – discussed life in Emilia Romagna and touched upon his relationship with Roma legend Francesco Totti.
“Finding space in Italy is not easy,” said Volpato, who emerged from the Primavera during Jose Mourinho’s tenure. “But Sassuolo rely on young players.”
“Maybe because there are fewer matches, but compared to Roma I feel like I work harder.”
“Totti? We always talk, he writes to me, he gives me advice. For example, he tells me: “In your half of the field play simple, over there do what you want. And try to shoot, if you don’t shoot you don’t score.” He’s right.”
