Former Roma defender Fedeico Balzaretti believes that Inter are showing the composure needed to win important games under head coach Simone Inzaghi.

Speaking to Italian broadcaster DAZN after Tuesday’s 3-1 comeback win against Fiorentina at the Stadio Artemio Franchi, Balzaretti highlighted the mental strength shown by the Nerazzurri to turn the match around after going a goal down.

Taking three points back from Tuscany was not easy for Inzaghi’s men, as La Viola gave them a hard time with an intense pressing game, looking the better side and going in deservedly ahead at the interval.

However, the Nerazzurri came back looking like a changed side during the second half, showing greater composure and a clinical edge having weathered the early storm, and they were able to control the game and get the result they had come for to continue their strong start to the season at the top end of the Serie A table.

“Yesterday, Inter won with the calmness of a strong team, the characteristic of Allegri’s first Juve,” Balzaretti said. “They knew how to suffer, then struck as soon as Fiorentina dropped off.”
