Former Liverpool winger Steve McManaman has said that it is difficult to see the Reds signing Erling Haaland next summer and that it is likely the striker will end up leaving Dortmund for Real Madrid.
The Norwegian forward has got a lot of clubs after him at the moment and some reports are suggesting that the Reds are among those keen.
Of course, that would be no shock given the talent that he has but McManaman cannot see the Reds managing to get him in in all truth.
“Do I believe Liverpool will be in the race to sign Erling Haaland next summer? No,” McManaman told horseracing.net.
“I really believe there’s a possibility he will head to Real Madrid and I think the player personally fancies Real Madrid and the lifestyle that comes with playing for them.”
ANFIELD WATCH VERDICT
A lot of the talk has been that Haaland would be heading to Madrid sooner rather than later and we’ll just have to wait and see if that is what the Norwegian ends up doing in the coming months.
For now, though, he remains a Dortmund player.
