Ex-Rangers hero Ryan Jack still out injured even with Scotland

Ex-Rangers midfielder Ryan Jack’s injury nightmare continues away from the club as the former Ibrox man was set to miss Hungary due to being ‘under the weather’.

The 32-year-old, who left Rangers this summer having failed to secure a new contract, is now dealing with life after Ibrox and of course his Germany adventure with the Scotland team.

Unfortunately he hasn’t featured in the tournament yet, never starting and barely even featuring as a contending sub, and now assistant Scotland boss John Carver has admitted he will be unlikely to feature at all in Scotland’s do-or-die final clash with the Hungarians.

Which means Rangers’ ex-midfielder continues to be plagued by injury, even despite most fans’ sarcastic observations that he’d be injury-free the second he left Rangers.

Not so.

Is it possible Rangers’ injury crisis really wasn’t down to the club or its medical at all, but just a ridiculously unfortunate group of players much more vulnerable to injury?

Some just never got injured in general – Wright, Tavernier, Goldson, Lundstram, Silva, Dessers – so many of the players were overall always available.

It was the Lawrences, the Roofes, the Jacks, the Ridvans who were always getting injured.

Maybe some players just get injured a lot more than others, and it’s not Rangers’ fault that that happens.

That Ryan Jack is still going through this in his post-Rangers career is rather telling.
