Former Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Manuel Ugarte left the capital club on the final day of the summer transfer window. The Uruguayan left for a hefty price, which made him one of the most expensive Premier League signings of the window, but where does he rank?
There was a lot of money spent this summer and TeamTALK put together a list of expensive signings that Premier League clubs made during the window. Manchester United spent an initial £42.3 million and another £8.5 million in potential add-ons for the player.
Nonetheless, this reported fee isn’t the most expensive spent by a Premier League side, but it does come in at No. 5. What are the other more pricey signings?
In the No. 4 spot is Amadou Onana, who went from Everton to Aston Villa this summer for £50 million. Chelsea’s Pedro Neto comes in at No. 3 as the Blues spent £51.4 million to secure the former Wolverhampton Wanderers standout.
Leny Yoro, a PSG transfer target this summer, occupies the No. 2 spot. Manchester United spent an initial £52.1 million and another £6.7 million in performance-related bonuses on the former LOSC Lille player. The Yoro saga would take a hefty price considering PSG, Liverpool, and Real Madrid were also in the race.
Finally, in the No. 1 spot is Dominic Solanke as Tottenham Hotspur paid Bournemouth an initial £55 million, and the fee could rise to £65 million with add-ons.
