With every passing day, the spotlight on Jude Bellingham gets brighter. In England’s dramatic 3-3 draw to Germany earlier this week, the Borussia Dortmund player was at the peak of his powers and was even named the man of the match.

Birmingham City striker Troy Deeney recently penned a column for The Sun, where he shared his thoughts about Bellingham’s unique style of football and future. Interestingly, he pushed the youngster to turn down approaches from Liverpool and sign for Real Madrid instead.

“I just have a feeling that Spanish football will suit him. If Real Madrid come in, I can’t see Jude turning that down.”

In that same article, the English footballer went on to say that he sees Bellingham as a future captain of the English National Team.

“I already think he is a superstar. I wouldn’t be surprised if he was the face of the FIFA game next year and I think he will be England captain in three to four years’ time.”

In eight Bundesliga appearances so far this season, the youngster averages 2.5 shots and over 15 defensive actions per game. Moreover, he also has an assist to his name.

Real Madrid are expected to go all out for his signature in the upcoming transfer windows as they see him as an ideal Luka Modric replacement. However, the operation could involve a transfer fee well north of €100 million.

His current deal with the Germans runs until the summer of 2025 and Dortmund will not make it easy for any club to sign him. And with competition from the likes of Liverpool, Chelsea, Manchester City and Manchester United, the chase will be anything but straightforward.

That said, it remains to be seen as to how far Los Blancos are willing to go for his services.
