Former Milan striker Olivier Giroud, a 2021-22 Serie A winner, would love to return to the club at the end of his playing career but jokes that he wants ‘no problems’ with his friend Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
The France forward released an interview with La Gazzetta dello Sport on the eve of a Champions League match between the Rossoneri and Bayer Leverkusen.
Giroud played with Ibrahimovic at San Siro and is not surprised by the latest controversial claims of the Swedish legend.
“Where’s the news? Ibra is Ibra, also as a director. He knows football and, mostly, Milan very well. If you pick Ibra, you must trust him. He must have carte blanche,” he said.
Giroud would also love to return to San Siro as a sports director once he ends his playing career.
“Milan is one of the biggest clubs in the world, and I have unforgettable memories there.
“I’d be glad if I had the chance to work for Milan, but I don’t want problems with my friend Ibra,” he said, smiling.
“Surely, I’ll always be a Rossoneri fan.”
