Just 31, Sturridge hasn't played professionally since playing 55 minutes of Trabzonspor's 2-2 draw with Besiktas.

Sturridge had joined the Turkish side in August 2019 after the expiry of his contract at Anfield.

He left the Reds a European champion and despite an impressive seven goals in 16 games for his new club, Sturridge's time there was cut short when he was handed a worldwide football ban for breaching betting rules.

The four-month suspension led to the termination of his contract with Trabzonspor and he hasn't played since.

But the Liverpool Echo reports his online activity suggests Sturridge is ready for a comeback.
