Goalkeper Emil Audero will start for Inter Milan in this evening’s Coppa Italia match against Bologna, whilst Yann Sommer will get a rest.
This according to Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, via FCInterNews. The broadcaster also anticipates that the Nerazzurri will line up with the same defense as against Lazio.
Inter coach Simone Inzaghi is ready to make a number of changes to the team that beat Lazio over the weekend for this evening’s Coppa Italia round of sixteen match against Bologna.
Naturally, the coach will be aiming to rest some key players, at least from the start.
Inter only just played on Sunday but are back in action already. And then, in just three days’ time, the Nerazzurri face Lecce in Serie A.
So Inzaghi will make not burning players out amid this packed fixture list into a major priority.
One of the most eye-catching changes will be in goal, Sky reports.
26-year-old former Juventus coach Audero will make his second ever start for Inter.
Audero joined the Nerazzurri on loan from Sampdoria during the summer transfer window.
The Italian has been far from first-choice between the posts this season. Former Bayern Munich keeper Yann Sommer has started virtually every match.
But Audero did make his debut in a 3-3 Champions League draw away to Benfica last month.
And the 26-year-old will once again get his chance this evening.
Meanwhile, in defense Sky reports that Yann Bisseck, Francesco Acerbi, and Alessandro Bastoni will start this evening.
That is the same trio that had started against Lazio on Saturday. But Inzaghi will have little chance to make changes, given the injury absences he has to contend with.
In midfield, it will be a wholesale change.
Davy Klaassen, Kristjan Asllani, and Davide Frattesi should start.
And in attack, Marko Arnautovic will take the place of Marcus Thuram starting alongside Lautaro Martinez. The 34-year-old Austrian international will start against his old side Bologna.
