Inter still have a few weeks to go before the season is over.

But there is a sense that they have pretty much put a wrap on things.

Unlike last season, when Inter took until late in the campaign to confirm their status in the top four of the Serie A table while going on several cup runs, there is little for the Nerazzurri to fight for.

The last objective remains the most important – the Serie A title.

Inter have the tantalizing possibility of clinching the title in the derby against AC Milan tomorrow. But if not then, the Nerazzurri should certainly do so in one of their subequent matches.

On the other hand, Inter are not in any other cup competitions.

The Nerazzurri won the Supercoppa Italiana in January.

But in both the Coppa Italia and the Champions League, Inter went out at the round of sixteen stage.

Marco Branca: “Crazy” Inter Milan Season In Serie A, Champions League A “Shame”

As far as Inter’s season on the whole, Branca said that “The first word that comes to mind is ‘crazy.'”

“Because there was also the possibility of going on a better tun in the Champions League.”

“And then there’s also the way that things have gone in the last few matches,” Branca continued.

“Not to mention the team and everyone around them have gained a new self-awareness from reaching the Champions League final last season, which they lost undeservedly.”

“I thought they would have prepared better,” Branca said of the fatal Champions League tie against Atletico Madrid.

“Whereas in the second leg, something was missing.”

“In the first match they were fine. Sometimes it’s fine to miss chances because you know there’s a second leg.”

“But if you get chances, you have to capitalize on them. It’s a shame.”

“It thought they were a little further along in their growth,” Branca said of Inter. “But still, overall, it’s been a fantastic season.”
