Former Nerazzurri defender Daniele Adani feels that Inter Milan had a test of their strength by beating Lazio in Serie A.
Speaking to Italian broadcaster Radio Deejay, via FCInterNews, the former defender argued that one of the key things that Inter showed during that match was a ruthlessness in punishing opposition errors.
Inter got an important win in the context of their Serie A title push on Sunday evening.
The Nerazzurri faced Lazio away. That was their third away match against one of Serie A’s heavy hitters in the space of less than a month.
Inter had drawn against Juventus in Turin, before travelling to Campania and beating Napoli 3-0.
And once again, Inter got an important win away in a tough stadium at the Stadio Olimpico.
The Nerazzurri hardly had it all their own way.
As had been the case away to the Bianconeri and the Partenopei, Inter needed to withstand a strong Biancocelesti performance.
But Simone Inzaghi’s team held firm. They managed to keep yet another clean sheet in the league.
And at the other end of the pitch, Lautaro Martinez and Marcus Thuram made no mistake. Inter’s two starting strikers showed their clinical edge when they needed to.
Former Inter defender Adani gave his thoughts on what his old side showed with their win over the Biancocelesti.
“What makes all the Nerazzurri’s opponents so worried is that even against teams who do well against them like Lazio or Napoli, eventually there will be an error or an individual moment of quality,” he said.
“Sunday evening there was another test of strength for Inzaghi,” he said.
“But it was somewhat inconclusive,” he argued.
The Nerazzurri beat Lazio 2-0 in order to increase their lead at the top of the Serie A table to four points.
