Former Inter Milan defender Daniele Adani believes wingback Juan Cuadrado should start against AC Milan.

Speaking to Italian broadcaster RAI Radio, via FCInterNews, the former defender also gave his thought on the Nerazzurri’s start to the season as a whole.

So far this season, Denzel Dumfries has started each of Inter’s matches in Serie A.

The Dutchman has done well during that time. He is clearly a player who understands what Simone Inzaghi wants from the wide areas after two seasons at the club.

Dumfries has notched a goal and an assist already this season.

But the 27-year-old has real competition for his place.

Veteran former Juventus, Fiorentina, and Chelsea wingback Cuadrado arrived this summer.

The Colombian is not just a player with experience. He is also an option with great technical quality.

Cuadrado’s dribbling ability and pinpoint deliveries into the box can certainly be a different kind of weapon for the Nerazzurri than what Dumfries tends to bring to the side.

Adani: Juan Cuadrado Should Start Vs AC Milan

“The Colombian was the best winger in the league for years in terms of his quality” Adani said.

“He must have gotten tired after all the Scudetti he won. And he was often decisive. The difference between Inter and Milan? You expect Inter, Milan amazed everyone.

“He should have a shot at starting against Milan,” he argued.

And of Inter’s start to the season, Adani said that “Inter turned it around starting with the last two months of last season.”

“We have to remember, after seven or eight months, it looked as though Inzaghi was out,” he noted.

“Then they had an incredible season finale, reaching the Champions League final.”

“And now they’re picking up where they left off,” Adani argued.
