Beppe Bergomi feels that it could be a problem for Inter Milan that many of their big Serie A matches to come are away.

Inter have a big few weeks on the way.

With the next international break still more than a month away, the Nerazzurri face a sequence of matches that will be make-or-break in their Serie A title pursuit.

Inter Milan take on Fiorentina this evening. It will be a rematch against a team that they fell to a shock 3-0 defeat to just four days ago.

Then, next weekend, Inter face Juventus. A match against Genoa follows, and then it’s the head-to-head clash with their main title rivals Napoli.

Bergomi: “Inter Milan’s Big Matches In Serie A Away Now”

The Derby d’Italia against Juventus and the potential title-decider against Napoli are both away from home for Inter.

The Nerazzurri had to settle for a draw in their first meeting with both teams. And now, they will have to try and get a better result, no longer playing in front of their own fans.

Former Inter captain Beppe Bergomi noted that “Inter still have a lot of head-to-head matches to play, and almost all of them are away.”

“That can be a factor to consider in the Scudetto race.”

“Against the big teams, they’ve only won against Atalanta. They’ve dropped points against Napoli and Juventus.”

However, Bergomi argued, “In terms of the style of play, Inter have played well in all these matches – except for the one in Florence.”

As far as Inter’s sluggish performance against Fiorentina last Thursday, Bergomi said that “Changing things up during a match is tricky.”

“Especially against a team like Fiorentina, who can take the lead and then shut up shop.”

“That’s been something Inter have struggled with for years,” argued Bergomi. “They lack that player who can turn a match around with dribbling ability.”

Against Fiorentina this evening, Bergomi argued that Inter have to “speed up the possession play, change it up often.”

“They have to move the opposition defense around,” the former Nerazzurri captain said.

“If they don’t, then we’ll see the same problems as on Thursday. It will be tricky for them to win.”
