Former Inter midfielder Paolo Stringara believes that it will be necessary to allow time for summer signings Edin Dzeko and Joaquin Correa to settle into the Nerazzurri’s attack.

Speaking to Italian news outlet Tuttomercatoweb, the 58-year-old gave the view that the two new attacking arrivals can contribute significantly at the club but that their best is yet to be seen as they are still developing chemistry with the team’s attack.

The summer transfer window saw the emergence of a significantly rebuilt Nerazzurri attack, with Romelu Lukaku’s shock sale to Chelsea followed by the arrivals of Dzeko and Correa from Roma and Lazio respectively.

Both players have gotten off the mark, each in their debuts for the club, but neither have managed to get on the scoresheet since as the Nerazzurri have looked far from clinical in front of goal despite strong attacking performances.

Stringara believes that they will start to pick up and find form for Inter however, stating that “After the slight physical decline seen against Sampdoria and Real, I expect to see freshness from Inter in the match against Bologna.”

“The strong forwards in Inzaghi’s squad are there,” he continued, “let’s give Correa and Dzeko time to settle in. Their level is excellent, even if Lukaku clearly remains very hard to replace.”
