Inter will win Serie A because Antonio Conte and Christian Eriksen have figured out how to work together, according to former Nerazzurri defender Daniele Adani.

Eriksen endured a torrid first 12 months in Italy following his €20 million move from Tottenham Hotspur, with Conte seemingly unable to integrate him into his side.

However, everything has changed since the end of January and now the Dane is an irreplaceable figure in the Nerazzurri’s midfield.

Analysing Inter’s remarkable 11-game winning run in Serie A, while speaking on Christian Vieri’s Twitch channel Bobo TV, Adani said: “Eriksen and Conte are like two railway lines who’ve met in the middle.

“People said Inter lost the Scudetto last season because they wasted too much time working out how to integrate Eriksen, but the truth is that they’re going to win it this season because Eriksen has come into the side.

“Inter are playing with Conte’s ideas and Eriksen’s qualities and that’s why they’ll win Serie A.

“We were told Eriksen wasn’t functional to Conte’s play but I take my hat off to the man and the player.

“He makes the difference in this Inter team, he’s even changed the way they defend now.

“Eriksen helps you control the tempo and reads the game well; these are things Roberto Gagliardini cannot give you.”

Inter are 11 points clear at the top of Serie A with just eight games left, making them odds-on favourites to win the Scudetto for the first time since 2010.

Some onlookers are still trying their best to discredit the job Conte has done this season, but Adani was having none of it and explained why the Nerazzurri didn’t deserve all their criticism.

“Inter would deserve to win the Scudetto, there’s no doubt about it,” Adani argued.

“We didn’t think they were worthy of the title at the start of the season when there were doubts about the work they were doing, but now they’re improving constantly.

“Conte has improved every player at Inter and their collective, and he’s getting results.

“He sometimes leaves the ball to his opponents, but he’s in control doing that and besides Inter know what they need to do when in possession.

“They’ve scored three or four beautiful goals this season.”
