Former defender Daniele Adani reflected on Sunday’s Serie A derby between familiar foes Juventus and Inter Milan.

Speaking on Viva El Futbol via FCInter1908, Adani identified one key weakness in this Nerazzurri squad.

Juventus inflicted Inter’s third league defeat this season as Francisco Conceicao bagged a second-half winner.

As a result, Simone Inzaghi had to leave Turin empty-handed for the first time since May 2021.

Furthermore, Napoli’s 2-2 draw at Lazio a day earlier meant the reigning champions finished the round two points adrift of the summit.

Meanwhile, Henrikh Mkhitaryan offered a damning assessment of Inter’s performance at the Allianz Stadium.

Though the fans didn’t like it, Adani supports the veteran’s statement.

“Mkhitaryan said something right, that they remain the strongest but shouldn’t hide from their responsibilities,” he said. “Perfect.

“There are more mistakes and more distractions, the difficulty is in finding the reasons.

“Right now, there’s also an energy drop. Inter is the team that has lost the most points against the top 7.

“If you’re the strongest, but you’re distracted and lazy, the points slip away from you.”

Daniele Adani Tells Inter Milan What They Lack At The Moment

“Ideas age quickly: Inter is a very recognizable team, unique in the football landscape.

“It has been forced to make a virtue out of necessity: constant rotations and position changes because you’ve never had players who dribble.

“You’ve grown by passing the ball, players and coach have solidified in this way of dominating the game, but without the one-on-one.

“Every team has wingers who dribble, Inter doesn’t. You miss them, especially when playing in Europe.

“You strengthen only one way of playing, but you remain predictable.

“And when you lose sharpness and don’t make the plays with your strongest players, you lose. If the ball hits the post or goes high, you have no other solutions.

“You know Inter, it doesn’t have other characteristics. In the second half yesterday, zero shots on goal. You don’t have a plan B.

“In my opinion, it’s a matter of renewing the squad; adding different characteristics.

“And sometimes the team gets a bit lazy, and that’s when you get a match like in Florence.”
