Former Empoli, Siena, and Sampdoria striker Massimo Maccarone believes that Inter and Napoli are the two teams who have what it takes to go all the way for the Scudetto.

Speaking to Italian broadcaster TMW Radio, the 42-year-old gave the view that the Nerazzurri and the Partenopei will be the two teams who are in the Serie A title race all the way until the end.

Inter are four points back from the Partenopei after beating them at the San Siro in the first match back from the international break.

Along with being a point behind city rivals AC Milan, and level with Atalanta who have played a game more, this leaves the Nerazzurri within striking distance of the top of the table, recognizing that Napoli are a very strong side.

Maccarone believes that throughout the season it will be Inter and Napoli who prove to be the two sides leading the way in pursuit of the Serie A title.

“I was impressed by Napoli’s performance against Lazio,” he stated, “it had been a while since I had enjoyed a team performance this much.”

“But watch out for the return of a great team like Inter,” he continued, “they and Napoli are the two that in my opinion can go all the way.”
