Youth coach Dixie Robinson, who coached Liverpool youngster Conor Bradley at Dungannon United, is delighted with the starlet.

Bradley played at right back for Liverpool in the Carabao Cup against Norwich City in a 3-0 win on Tuesday, becoming the first Northern Irishman to play for the club since 1954.

Despite having a poor start to the game, when he gave away a penalty, Bradley composed himself and had an excellent game.

"Conor showed tremendous character," Robinson told BBC Northern Ireland.

"I sent him a little text last night to say that he showed a great sense of character to recover from conceding a penalty.

"I'm sure for a minute he thought it was going to [ruin] his debut but not a bit of it.

"He showed tremendous character in the second half and went on to play the full game which was absolutely amazing for him."
